Geely shines in Ukraine
62% growth in first half of 2012 , 3rd ranking of sales in July

Subsequent to the fruit that more than 10,000 cars were exported in June, Geely once again scored a high mark in the following month, with 10,235 cars shipped overseas. Of all Geely’s international markets, Ukraine is worthy to be crowned.

At the first half of this year, 9.58% growth was generated in the Ukrainian auto market comparing to the same period last year. Nonetheless, Geely’s sales growth for the first six months of this year in Ukraine amazingly stands at 62.46%, which greatly dwarfs Ukrainian auto market increment rate. With the outstanding performance and strong competitive edge, Geely now overshadows its Chinese counterparts (Chery, Great Wall, JAC, Lifan etc.) and ranks No.1 in this market. By August 15th, Geely has already shipped more than 7,400 cars to Ukraine and around 12,000 cars in total are expected to be exported to this East European country in 2012. Last month, Geely’s 7.46% market share in Ukrainian Passenger Car Market has made itself rank 3rd among all car brands in Ukraine, which also signifies that Geely was only outdone by Hyundai and the Ukrainian local brand ZAZ. Unexpectedly, this brand from China has defeated many international names in the tug-of-war, such as Toyota, Volkswagen, and Ford etc.

(Ukrainian Passenger Car Market)

By July this year, Geely has sold over 40,000 cars in Ukraine since January 2007 and already become an important player which cannot be neglected in the local market.

At the first seven months of 2012, Geely’s accumulative exportation has already reached 48,944 cars, which gained 212% growth comparing to the same period last year. In terms of the overseas markets, Geely has already made itself on the fast track and as a result, the exportation goal of exceeding 80,000 cars this year in its international market would be very likely.
